About Killarney Golf & Fishing Club — Killeen

The Killeen Course at Killarney Golf and Fishing Club is the longer and more recently developed of the club's two championship layouts, stretching to 7,062 yards at a par of 72. Set on the southern shores of Lough Leane — the largest of the Killarney Lakes — the course offers a parkland experience of rare beauty, with the MacGillycuddy's Reeks providing a constant backdrop and the lake glittering on numerous holes throughout the round.

Killarney Golf Club occupies one of the most scenic club settings in Ireland. The estate dates to the 19th century, and the golf courses have evolved gradually through the work of several distinguished architects. The Killeen Course was laid out in its current form in 1971 and modified by Dr. Billy O'Sullivan and later by Donald Steel. The course is characterised by mature woodland, generous fairways and demanding approach shots to contoured greens protected by well-positioned bunkers.

Killarney has hosted numerous national and international tournaments over its history, including the Irish Open. Visitors are warmly welcomed at green fees of €80–€100, which represents exceptional value for a course of this quality and setting. The clubhouse is one of Ireland's finest golf facilities, with an excellent restaurant, pro shop and practice ground. Advance booking is recommended, particularly during the peak summer season when Killarney attracts golfers from across the world.
